A masterpiece of balance
The successful combination of the fresh, light grape variety Shavkapito from Central Georgia with the Kakhetian tradition of a long maceration in Qvevri. A perfectly balanced red wine at the transition to a powerful rosé. Ripe blackberry, red mirabelle and hints of forest herbs delight nose and palate. Its balanced acidity gives the Shavkapito a unique sensory freshness and structure.

Merab Mirtskhulava is the spokesman of the winery Alapiani, run by a winegrower community. They have been producing natural wines in two climatically distinct regions of Georgia already for many years now: in Vazisubani in the east, in the dry and hot region Kakheti, and in the west in Okami, in the mild and humid Kartli. There, the grapes like Chinuri grow about 550m above sea level, where the soils are predominantly alluvial carbonized. Alapiani produces Qvevri wine according to old Georgian winemaking methods without any additives; they are spontaneously fermented and not filtered.
